Email attachment limits

Gmail allows attachments up to 25 MB; Outlook.com is around 20 MB and many corporate mail servers cap at 10–25 MB. If your file is larger, the email bounces or Gmail switches it to a Google Drive link.

Compressing to 25 MB (or 20 MB to be safe for Outlook) lets you attach the video directly, so the recipient gets it inline without a cloud link.

When the video still won’t fit

Long videos may not reach watchable quality at 25 MB — in that case trim to the essential part, or send a share link. For most short clips and screen recordings, the 25 MB preset produces a clean, attachable file.

Frequently asked questions

How big an attachment can I email?

Gmail and Yahoo allow up to 25 MB; Outlook.com around 20 MB. Corporate servers are often stricter (10–25 MB). Compress to 20–25 MB to be safe across providers.

What happens if my video is too big for email?

The message bounces, or Gmail uploads it to Google Drive and sends a link instead. To attach the file directly, compress it under 25 MB first with the preset above.

Can I keep it under a stricter 10 MB limit?

Yes — switch to the Discord 10 MB or a custom target. The compressor lets you set any target size with the slider.

Is my file uploaded to your servers?

No. Compression is done entirely in your browser; the video never leaves your device.
